Driving Academy markets this location as its Tallahassee, Florida school, but the physical campus is located in Quincy, approximately west of Tallahassee. Students receive classroom and practical CDL preparation at a facility with an attached one-acre training yard.
The school also maintains a separate one-acre testing site, allowing students to complete CDL road testing at the facility. Commercial-driving simulators supplement classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
Training is designed for students preparing to obtain a commercial driver’s license and includes permit and road-test preparation.
Students who already hold a commercial learner’s permit do not necessarily need to complete the full course. Driving Academy offers Half Courses focused on preparing permit holders for the CDL road test.
Hands-on preparation can include:
• Vehicle inspection
• Basic vehicle-control skills
• Parking maneuvers
• Road-driving techniques
• Simulator practice
• CDL road-test preparation
Students can train on both automatic and manual-transmission trucks. Taking the CDL skills test in an automatic vehicle may result in an automatic-transmission restriction.
The current Quincy/Tallahassee campus information does not publish one fixed tuition amount.
Students should request the complete tuition and fee schedule for their chosen training package, including any testing or vehicle-use costs, before enrollment.

Students who successfully obtain the appropriate CDL may pursue careers in long-haul trucking, regional transportation, local delivery and other commercial-driving occupations. Available jobs depend on CDL class, endorsements and employer requirements.
Applicants must generally be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license and meet DOT medical requirements. Drivers planning to operate commercially across state lines generally need to be at least 21.
Driving Academy’s Tallahassee-area campus is physically located in Quincy and provides CDL preparation through classroom instruction, simulators, a one-acre training yard and a separate testing site. The availability of training and testing facilities at the same location can simplify the licensing process for students in the Tallahassee and Quincy region.
