Overview

Driving Academy’s Tucson campus provides CDL training for students pursuing Class A, Class B and Class B Passenger commercial driver’s licenses. Training combines classroom education with practical commercial-vehicle experience and is designed to prepare students for both the written permit examination and CDL skills test.

The school operates a separate maneuvering and training facility at 3881 N Highway Dr in Tucson. Flexible schedules are available throughout the week, including evenings and weekends, making training accessible to students who are working while preparing for a commercial-driving career.

Programs Offered

Class A CDL

Class A training prepares students to operate combination commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers. Training includes classroom education and practical preparation for vehicle inspections, maneuvering and road driving.

Class B CDL

Class B training is intended for students preparing to operate qualifying heavy single-unit commercial vehicles, including many box trucks and delivery vehicles.

Class B Passenger

Passenger CDL training prepares students to operate qualifying Class B passenger vehicles such as buses. Appropriate passenger and other applicable endorsements are required.

Training Options

Students can choose from different levels of CDL preparation based on their existing experience.

Comprehensive training provides 100+ hours of instruction. Students who already hold a commercial learner’s permit can focus more heavily on practical skills and road-test preparation rather than repeating the complete permit curriculum.

Training covers vehicle inspection, basic vehicle control, parking maneuvers, road driving and commercial-vehicle safety.

Tuition & Financial Assistance

The Tucson campus does not publish one standard tuition amount because costs depend on the training package selected.

Driving Academy advertises flexible payment plans, including options beginning with $500 down. Students should request the complete tuition, testing and fee schedule before enrolling.
