Enrollment Tips

Students should budget for tools as well as tuition. Current 2026–27 tool sets range from a few hundred dollars for certain construction/utility programs to more than $7,000 for Automotive and Diesel.

Non-Missouri students should also investigate the college’s out-of-state scholarship before assuming they must pay the full $480-per-credit nonresident tuition.

Bottom Line

State Technical College of Missouri should be one of the top schools on your Missouri page. It is essentially built around technical education, with standout programs in welding, electrical, HVAC, linework, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, precision machining and automation. Few Missouri schools offer this many serious hands-on trade programs at one campus.
